This summer, we're taking our monthly Sunday dance socials outside to the St. Clair Esplanade. We've done this once before, as part of an International Dance Day event run by Dance Ōtepoti, and it was so much fun we wanted to make it a regular part of our dancing schedule.
Dancing on beachfronts actually plays an important part in swing dancing history, and a film clip of dancing at Venice Beach in Los Angeles can be found on Youtube. In this video, dancers are seen dancing on a sandy car park right on the beach front - not completely dissimilar to the part of the Esplanade where we will be!

The set up for our dance socials will be nice and simple: from 3-5pm we'll play some tunes, and welcome you to dance! We will have events on the last Sunday of every month from October through to March (excluding a December break). If the weather is awful, we'll shift inside to a hall. Follow our socials for weather/event updates!
Where will we be? We'll be right by the sea front, in the semi circular section in front of the surf club. Just listen out for the music.
